Putin: Russia must purge banks, industry from illegal activities

MOSCOW, Feb 28 (PRIME) -- Russia must clean its banking system, the energy sphere and the industry from illegal activities, President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday at a meeting with the police.

“We need to purge the banking system, the energy sector, the manufacturing and the construction industries from criminal activities, gray schemes consistently,” Putin said.

Putin also urged to investigate illegal persecution of businessmen, including by the law enforcement authorities, because lawful business interests must be protected.
